Last updated: 18 October 2026
Welcome to The Clare Edit.
These terms explain how I provide consultancy services, what you can expect when working with me and the responsibilities we each have.
Please read them before booking or purchasing a service.

1. About The Clare Edit

The Clare Edit is an independent business consultancy operated by Clare Britton, a sole trader based in Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom.
Contact: [clarebritton84@gmail.com]
Business correspondence address: [6, St Leonards Rd, Norwich, NR1 4BT]

2. Services

The Clare Edit provides independent business consultancy, strategic recommendations and practical support.
Services may include:
-
The Edit: a fixed-price strategic review and 90-day action plan.
-
The Sprint: a separately scoped project to help implement agreed improvements.
-
Ongoing Support: consultancy and support provided under a separately agreed arrangement.
The exact scope, fees, timescales and deliverables for each engagement will be confirmed before work begins.

3. The Edit

The Edit costs £495 and includes the deliverables described on the service page and in the Booking & Cancellation Policy.
It is a focused strategic review, not a comprehensive audit of every aspect of your business.
The service does not automatically include implementation, ongoing support, specialist legal or financial advice, or detailed technical audits.
Any additional work must be agreed separately.

4. Booking and payment

Payment for The Edit is required in full at booking unless otherwise agreed.
For other services, payment terms will be set out in the relevant proposal, invoice or written agreement.
Any applicable taxes will be clearly stated before purchase.
I reserve the right to decline work where the requested service falls outside my expertise, available capacity or appropriate professional boundaries. If I cannot accept a paid booking, I will arrange an appropriate refund.

5. Your responsibilities

To provide useful recommendations, I rely on accurate and reasonably complete information from you.
You agree to:
-
Provide relevant information in a timely manner.
-
Ensure you have permission to share any business materials or personal information supplied.
-
Attend agreed appointments or provide reasonable notice of changes.
-
Review recommendations in the context of your own business circumstances.
-
Make your own decisions about whether and how to implement the advice.
Delays in providing information may affect delivery timescales.

6. My responsibilities

I will provide services with reasonable care and skill, using my professional experience and judgement.
Recommendations will be based on the information available and the agreed scope of work.
I will explain material limitations or assumptions where appropriate.

7. Recommendations and results

Business outcomes depend on many factors, including market conditions, resources, implementation and decisions outside my control.
I cannot guarantee particular revenue increases, sales, rankings, conversion rates or other commercial results.
Recommendations are intended to support informed decision-making, not replace it.

8. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the original information, materials and branding you provide.
I retain ownership of my pre-existing methods, templates, tools, know-how and other intellectual property.
Once the agreed fees have been paid, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the final recommendations and deliverables internally for your business.
You may share them with your employees and professional advisers for your own business purposes.
You may not resell, commercially redistribute or present my underlying templates or methods as your own consultancy products without written permission.
Any different ownership or usage arrangements will be agreed in writing.

9. Confidentiality

I will treat non-public business information you share as confidential and use it for the purposes of delivering the agreed services.
I may disclose it to service providers or professional advisers where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate safeguards, or where required by law.
Confidentiality does not apply to information already publicly available through no breach of these terms.
I will not publish your business as a case study or testimonial without permission.

10. Data protection

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
Where a project involves processing personal information on your behalf, we may need to agree additional data protection terms before work begins.

11. Changes to scope

If you request work beyond the agreed scope, I will discuss any additional fees, deliverables and timescales before proceeding.
No additional charge will apply without your agreement.

12. Cancellations and refunds

Bookings for The Edit are subject to the Booking & Cancellation Policy.
Cancellation and termination terms for The Sprint or Ongoing Support will be confirmed in their individual agreements.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory cancellation rights where they apply.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
I remain responsible for providing services with reasonable care and skill and for other obligations that cannot legally be excluded.
For business customers only, and subject to applicable law, neither party will be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the engagement, and any agreed financial liability limits will be set out in the relevant written agreement.
No provision in these terms removes rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable law.

14. Website information

I make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current.
General content published on the website or in the Journal is for information only and does not constitute personalised professional advice.

15. Complaints and concerns

If you have concerns about a service, please contact [clarebritton84@gmail.com] with details of the issue.
I will review your concerns and work with you in good faith to find an appropriate resolution.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protections provide otherwise.

17. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time.
The terms applicable to an existing booking or project will not be changed retrospectively without an appropriate legal basis or agreement.
